Dr. Evangelos Grivas

Dr. Evangelos Grivas was born in Athens, Greece in 1979. He received his BSc in Physics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2002, and his MSc in Microelectronics from the University of Athens, Greece in 2004. He became a Student Member of IEEE in 2005. He was with the Institute of Microelectronics (associate researcher on contract), NCSR “Demokritos”, Athens, Greece, from 2004 to 2006, where he was working on IST PICMOS and “Multi-Gigabit Optical Backplane Interconnections” (MGOBI) funded by ESA/ESTEC. In 2016, he has obtained his PhD on Optical Communications using Multimode and Polymer Optical Fibres and their applicability in Short Area Networks at UoA, Athens, Greece. His research interests include optical transmission over multimode fibres – especially large core Plastic Optical Fibers (POF) –, dispersion compensation by both electronic and optical means and high speed electronics supporting optical communications. He is currently head of the Electronic Design and Development activities in Eulambia.
