Dr. Charis Mesaritakis
Dr. Charis Mesaritakis has received his BS degree in Informatics by the department of Informatics & Telecommunications of the University of Athens in 2004. In 2006 he received the MSc in Microelectronics and Nanotechnology, whereas in 2011 he received his PhD degree on subject quantum dot based lasers for next generation optical networks, by the optical communication laboratory of the same institution. In 2012 he was awarded a European scholarship for post-doctoral studies (Marie Curie FP7-PEOPLE IEF) in the joint research facilities of Alcatel-Thales-Lucent in Paris-France, where he worked on high power mode locked lasers for intra-satellite communications. In 2014 he received the G. Latsis national scholarship (scientific studies 2014) for post-doctoral studies in the optical communication laboratory in the University of Athens, where he worked on artificial intelligence schemes based on photonic structures. Currently, he is a research engineer at Eulambia Ltd. working on photonic cryptographic schemes and all optical processing. He is the author and co-author of more than 40 papers in highly cited peer reviewed international journals and conferences, a book chapter on quantum dot devices (Lecture Notes – Springer), whereas he is a regular reviewer for IEEE, OSA, AIP and Springer.
