Dr. Alexandros Fragkos
Dr. Alexandros Fragkos was born in Athens, Greece, on February 15, 1983. He received his B.S. degree in Physics, his M.Sc. degree in electronics and telecommunications, and his Ph.D. in optical communications from the University of Athens, Greece in 2006, 2008 and 2013, respectively. His doctoral thesis was on all-optical processing based on parametric amplification in optical fibres and optical injection locking in semiconductor lasers. His area of expertise includes bandwidth efficient modulation formats, coherent communication systems, optoelectronic circuit design and implementation and FPGA and microcontroller programming. During his Ph.D., he designed and implemented a variety of optoelectronic circuits including photonics sensors, PLLs, low noise amplifiers, laser current sources and various automated sub-systems. He is currently a R&D Project Manager in Optoelectronics at Eulambia responsible for the design, development and characterization of optoelectronic prototypes and devices.
